Definitely A Lesson To Tell

My family and I spent Tuesday checking out Vail and Aspen until we got bored and decided to drive to Denver. We had breakfast and left Carbondale at about 6am and headed directly towards Woody Creek Tavern. One of my favorite authors the early, great Hunter S. Thompson. He resided on Owl Farm in Aspen and would walk the quarter mile on foot to chill at the bar and write much of his writings at Woody Creek Tavern. It was nice to, for the first time, get there, sit down, and have brunch. The tavern itself wasn’t much to brag over. It’s a tiny restaurant with outside tables, but on the inside, there are buckets of articles and pictures posted on the walls and the seat in which Hunter S Thompson used to sit was facing ‘outwards’ like to say “HEY-this seat’s taken!” After eating, we braved the traffic to get to downtown Aspen. It was well worth waiting for. It was also not that bad because of the satellite radio receiver my dad got me for the trip. Such an incredible town, and so pretty. It was wonderful to see my best friend, who live there year round.
